We were a little nervous given some of the negative reviews of dining etc but we have very few criticisms. We live in NJ so getting there was simple. We park at Park 2 Go in Elizabeth and always have good experiences with them. Boarding was easy. They had to take my wife's picture three times so I don't know what that was about. Our interior room with a virtual balcony was a little larger than we are accustomed to. It had ample storage with cabinets over the bed. The balcony was a nice feature and the night lite in the bathroom an excellent feature. The shower seemed to be a little larger than the typical one and hot water flowed with abundance. I wish they could find a way of having a soap tray that stopped the soap bars from falling though. I banged my head a few times picking it up! The bed was comfortable and our attendant was very good.
Dining- We dined in the buffet a number of times and tried the dining rooms except SILK. Buffet was okay with a variety of foods. At times, it took awhile for plates to be cleared. We tried the Grand once (tried to get in without a reservation once when no reservations were available but they wouldn't seat us. CHIC & American Icon would seat us even if they were all booked. We had the lobster which was okay but a bit too buttery. CHIC- ate there twice. A friendly area supervisor. The first night the waiter was friendly; when we returned a week later he was not as attentive. They got busy during dessert and it took a long time for it. I had lamb and it was good, my wife had beef wellington and it was very good.
American Icon- we ate there three times for dinner and three times for lunch. They had tables seated next to each other which enabled us to talk to neighboring tables. CHIC and the Grand were not set up that way. American Grand had the very best crab cakes that I've ever eaten. I had them for appetizers and during lunch. I salivate now as I think about them. The first night I ordered the red snapper and my wife had the 'surf and turf'. The snapper was tasteless and the 'surf and turf' consisted of 4 small shrimp and a small steak. The waitress saw that we were unhappy and were ordered other items. The salmon was okay but I make really good salmon. The wait staff were very attentive- Janette was excellent. A wine steward did speak to us and was very helpful with a special request. Did I mention the cab cakes????
