The Spirit is a very beautiful, unique ship. The staterooms are on the smaller side but we were only in the room to shower and sleep. Jeffrey, our room steward, did an excellent job keeping the room clean. The public areas were very nicely decorated and for the most part, kept clean.
The exception was the toilets. Many of the public restrooms were out of order. The men's restroom on the 8th floor mid-ship overflowed into the hallway early in the cruise. The rest of the week the was a large fan blowing over the carpet, the smell remained. Several times throughout the cruise there was a strong odor of sewage in different places throughout the cruise. It wasn't a deal breaker, but I probably won't sail on this ship again.
We were very happy with the food service. The first night we dined in the Windows dining room. It was a little chaotic and disorganized. Four other nights we ate in the Gardens Dining Room. The food was excellent, service was great except for one waiter, who apparently was on island time. We ate at Shogun two nights and it was wonderful. Highly recommend Shogun. We ate the buffet for breakfast and there was a large variety. I recommend the Blue Lagoon for chicken wings- yummy!
The room was clean. Great location to forward stairs/lifts. Occasionally there would be a sewage smell- helped to keep toilet lid down and door closed. Bedding was very nice. Would recommend this stateroom.
Met some friends who live there for drinks and appetizers in a few Marina bars. Good weather. Wish we had been in port longer than five hours.
Very educational, the lagoon was a bit disappointing. Go early so as to have less algae stirred up. Great gift shop.
Seemed like the thing to do when in Jamaica- glad we did it. Will go to the beach next time
Staff were excellent and friendly for embakation.
