To be honest, as older cruisers with 50+ sailings over the years, we were a bit disappointed with the Anthem. We loved the Oasis and the Allure and look forward to the Harmony, but doubt that we would book a Quantum Class ship again. There were lots of new innovations and lots of gadgetry, but the shows were a disappointment. Geared to a much younger crowd, the music was deafening and vibrated to the extreme. We longed for the many shows we have really enjoyed over the years. We also missed the comedy club. Although there were a couple of comedians on the main theater stage for all ages, there was no adult comedy show to enjoy.
On the plus side, the Windjammer was the best one we've met yet (except for the orange juice and the scrambled eggs -- but offered wonderful made-to-order fried eggs), and the ship has a lovely Solarium. The TwoSeventy Room in the stern was remarkable and very new and different (unlike any we've seen) -- and comfortable. The iFLY and Flowrider and Bumper Cars were fun to watch, but again, more for a younger crowd. Pushing a wall button to enter the restrooms on deck was innovative (and more sanitary).
Embarking and disembarking were smoother and quicker. The cabins seemed to be larger and laid out more efficiently, as well. Drinks were much more expensive -- and the robotic bar tenders even more so. We did enjoy the Group Classic Dining whereby we visited four different restaurants and had the same table and wait staff each evening (and then repeated). This allowed for a great variety of choices on the menu and the food was quite good. I must say that service was rather slow, due to the closeness of the tables and the number of tables each waiter had to service.
Cabin was lovely -- well laid out with plenty of storage space and comfortable beds and a better balcony sliding door.
