We are family of 2 adults and a 8 year old boy. We have sailed on Carnival and NCL and have wanted to try Disney but the price has been an issue. Luckily I was looking for a cruise last year in January about a year out and found a great rate on an Ocean view cabin. It was half of what you would pay for a similar cabin on the Dream out of Port Canaveral plus one extra port stop in Key West.

We flew down the day before and stayed at the Comfort Suites in Miami which has free shuttle service to the airport and the Port of Miami. The hotel was very nice for an overnight stay and the shuttle got us to the port at 10:15am with only a 15 minute wait before the terminal started letting people in to check in. Check in was very quick and the kids registration was there as well so we knocked out two of our tasks very quickly. We then went to get in line for pictures with Mickey and luckily we were the 2nd group to be taken. FYI we were asked to present our form of citizenship and used birth certificates with no problem. We were on the ship by 11:45 being in group 6. I used a 11:00 to 11:30 boarding request when registering so right on time.

On board ship we went up to Cabanas for lunch and had no problems finding a table. Cabanas was very easy to get around and find tables the entire cruise. The only problem was people butting in the lines to get one item or another.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom

Cabin 09A

This cabin was great as there was plenty of storage space and very easy to get around in with 3 people. The bed was comfortable and bathrooms had plenty of space. One of the biggest pluses is that this cabin is close to the forward elevators which no one really ever used. We were able to get a lift quickly anytime of day even on Embarkation and Debarkation day as well as days in port. The only drawbacks was that the bow thrusters caused the front end of the ship to shake when docking in port and could be felt in the cabin. Also the shower curtain usually stuck to me while taking a shower. The tub is great for little ones and gives you more room front to back but side to side is still a problem for those of us a little wide. The cabin is right above the Magic logo on the side of the ship.
