Oasis is amazing and didn't feel crowded; I do like Independence class better.

I am a 52 year old straight male who likes cruising alone. I've cruised RCL several times including three times last year, all on Liberty of the Seas. I wanted the itinerary offered on Oasis so I booked the trip. Embarkation was easy. I arrived at teh terminal at 11:15 and was onboard before noon. The staterooms were open promptly at 1PM as promised and by that time I had taken in a swim since I had carried on all my luggage and was able to easily access my bathing suit and change in the rest room. From that moment I was best friends with the Sky Bar bartenders and found a favorite spot for the week.

Nassau is a bore so I stayed on the ship; I've been there many time. Goof football viewing Sunday and Monday for big games; first Sunday at AquaTheater and then Monday at Studio B. Great camaraderie and a chance to meet plenty of people. Excursion is St. Thomas was a real highlight: Christmas Island and Honeymoon Cove Pirate Sail with snorkeling and lunch on the beach was a terrific trip. The ship, Bones, was captained by Heath and crewed by deckhands Taylor and a recent USCG sailor, and we sailed, motored, snorkeled and enjoyed the entire day in their good company and safe supervision. It was a highlight of the cruise.

My time dining worked for me three nights, one at Chops and two in Windjammer. I loved this cruise and getting to know Oasis and may return to this ship although I enjoyed the center-of-attention pool activity layout on Liberty better.

Cabin D3

Nice and clean but a few stains on the ceiling that look like they could have been removed. Good cabin service.

Port Reviews

St. Maarten

I took a delightful walk to the Boardwalk and had lunch at the Blue Bitch, a locally owned place upstairs and across from the beach. Ask around and you'll find it. Also had a drink at Dirty Sanchez and that was fun. Note: I got lost on a walking tour trying to find Blue Bitch and even after going at least a mile too far into a local residential area I never felt out of place and the locals I kept passing were friendly and helpful when I (finally) asked for directions. I bought Cuban Cohiba Maduro 5s at Cigar Emporium and felt like I good good, authentic cigars at the right price.

Nassau

I have been to Nassau many times and did not need to go of the ship. Having been there many times I know the best beach and possibly best way to spend a day there is to take a taxi to Cabbage Beach and enjoy that beautiful and uncrowded public beach.
