We took our family of 8 on the Escape for my 50th birthday - young adults ages 20 to 30 with our 5-year old granddaughter. We had 4 balcony cabins in the front of the ship. We purchased the 3-night specialty dining package (well worth the money). This was my third cruise over the last 8 years - have sailed with Carnival and Princess in the past. I scoured the reviews on Cruise Critic for weeks before we sailed on the January 9th and found it very helpful in setting my expectations.

Pros:

Food was AWESOME! Drinks were good. Lots of options for both. Favorites: La Cucina, District Brew House and Cellars Wine Bar (relaxing outside seating allows you to get fresh air away from the hustle and bustle and order wines by the glass that are only available by the bottle elsewhere)

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BF

Very satisfactory. Plenty of hangers and storage. Bed was comfortable. Balcony was standard size. Best part was the very large bathroom and shower.

We never met our steward, but when we called for extra towels or for other housekeeping issues, they were taken care of right away.

Port Reviews

Nassau

This was our second trip to Nassau. The first time we went to Atlantis so we decided to just explore on our own this time. There is really nothing valuable to do within walking distance of the ship - except for the Straw market which can be a fun experience. We went to Junkanoo Beach which was dirty and full of very drunk young people. We did have some great jerk chicken from a shack on the beach there.

Definitely pay to take a cab to a better part of the island.

Some of our party did the submersible boat tour and said that it was very short and not a good value for the price.
