Celebrity Silhouette Jan 3-10, 2016
We sailed on the Silhouette from Fort Lauderdale for a fantastic journey. Since we live in Tampa, we drove to Ft. Lauderdale on Jan 2, and stayed at a Marriott Courtyard on Marriott points. On the 3rd we drove to the pier, parked in one of the port's garages for $15/day, and walked to the ship, which was only 100 yards or so away from the garage. Normally we stay at a hotel that lets you leave your car in their parking area, and they take you to the port and pick you up when you return. We chose not to this time because they wanted an exorbitant rate to do this (I assume because it was New Year's weekend).
Boarding was the easiest we have ever had on any ship (and we have done over 30 cruises). This was our 3rd cruise on the Silhouette. We have never seen so many Celebrity agents to check you in. This was our first time to have a Sky Suite, so we got priority check in and boarding. We got to the terminal about 10:30 am, and we were on the ship at 10:45 am with a glass of champagne in our hands!!
Cabin Review
Sky Suite 1
Fantastic cabin; first time we had ever had a suite, and you get spoiled in about 5 minutes! It had 300 sq. ft. vs. less than 200 sq. ft. for a concierge or Aqua cabin. Huge balcony which we really enjoyed. Unfortunately it was one deck below the buffet area, and we heard a lot of noise of rolling carts around 3 am.
