For the past few years we have done a Christmas cruise. This was the worst. We have sailed with Royal before, on the very first Rhapsody cruise when Royal came to Australia for the first time during the GFC. It was great, older ship but the food, service etc was great. This time we were on the Voyager of The Seas to New Zealand. I hate this ship. With no central atrium it has no heart. The shopping Mall doesn't belong on a ship.

All the bars are small and uninteresting. The ships get bigger yet still only one basic coffee bar. I want to know I am on a ship not a floating casino. The casino takes up so much space yet half of it was closed. They are also following this new trend of 'Pay As You Go Dining' by dumbing down the standard of the included meals. Christmas day dinner was pathetic. Christmas pudding turned out to be normal white sponge cake with custard! There were many dishes where you were left wondering if the Chef actually knew what he was doing. The famous RC Souffle we had on Rhapsody was a complete and deflated disaster on Voyager.

Entertainment on stage was awful. The only good thing were the two ice shows, excellent!

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Really nice cabin. Amazing difference between the slightly smaller balcony cabin and the larger one we had. Nothing fancy but lots of storage and room to move about. Sliding doors on the shower was a big improvement on curtains. Did run short of shower hot water at peak times. Only a very small selection of films to watch on TV.
