As first timers to Hawaii, this was an excellent cruise - in terms of getting an good introduction to all the Hawaiian islands. The itinerary is quite relaxed, giving you good amount of time on each island. The ship, services, programming and food, however are very average. Someone had written in another review that this was like staying at a Holiday Inn - and that analogy is spot on.

The ship was clean ! 5/5 for cleanliness; We had a balcony cabin - pretty good for 3 adults and one child. We were able to store our entire luggage in the closet, under the beds etc. Cabin steward was good- responsive and well-trained. Staff overall was a hit or miss. The staff at the sit-down restaurants (the ones that were included in freestyle) was always a let down. Seemed as if they were doing you a favor by serving you. We had instances when plates were cleared without asking and while we were still not finished with the meal. On the other hand, the staff at the paid restaurants was good. We had excellent service experiences, esp. at the Italian restaurant.

The food was at best mediocre. And by mediocre, I mean the variety, taste and quality everything was lacking. Breakfast - same for seven days (ok, thats understandable). Try the Cadillac diner one day for breakfast - same food, but hey, its served !; Lunch - most of the days we were out on shore excursions. Dinner - surprisingly the best couple of meals we had was at the Aloha buffet. The Italian restaurant was below average, the chinese just about ok. The steaks left a lot desired in the quality of the meat. Entrees were all uniformly underwhelming. Not worth the extra cover charge, really. We all felt the desserts were pretty good - almost all the time. Maybe we got a good pastry chef in our sailing.
