This was the 3rd cruise for Hubby and me. Previously cruised on Royal Caribbean's Adventure of the Seas, and Regal Princess. Few complaints...Seriously?? How can one complain about being on a cruise!!

I have said that Princess and Royal Caribbean are wonderful, but are like Las Vegas. Bright, shiny, flashy, loud, active, non-stop. Whereas, Celebrity Silhouette is like Paris, elegant, classy, sophisticated. Beautifully and tastefully decorated. In my opinion, Silhouette is not a ship that would appeal to younger people. No rock-climbing wall, no wave-rider, no ice skating rink. There are great entertainers and plenty of activities to keep one occupied, however.

We were in cabin 6120, forward starboard side, and it was great. Hubby did hear music from Celebrity Theatre just below us, but, without my hearing aids, I heard nothing! We did feel a fair amount of motion, but never felt sick. Our cabin attendant was Lindo and he was wonderful!!! Always kept fresh towels, and after the first day when I mentioned that we preferred 4 towels, there were always at least 4 towels available. Every night there were chocolates on our pillows at turn down. He had extra hangers to us within minutes of our request and filled our ice bucket 2 times a day. The closet was plenty sufficient for our hanging clothes. All of our large suitcases fit fine under the bed. There was a shortage of drawer space, but we simply made up for it by utilizing the cupboards above the bed. Previous reviewers mentioned that they were unaware of the cupboards above the bed. Seriously?? What did they think the cabinets were? Admittedly, getting into the cabinets was not as convenient as drawers would have been, but, not a serious issue. The balcony was decent size, with room for 2 chairs and a small table. There was a ledge which extended about 3 feet from the bottom of the balcony outwards which prevented us from seeing straight down to the water, but otherwise there were no other obstructions. Upon arrival, I moved the small "coffee table" from in front of the sofa to between the sofa and the closet, to get it out of the way. The bed was quite comfortable and the linens were luscious! The bathroom was bigger than we are accustomed to on other ships, with an amazing amount of storage. The shower was a great size and I loved the glass doors, and not having to fight with a shower curtain!! Even the shampoo, conditioner and lotion were quite nice. I am pretty picky about what I use on my hair and I used their shampoo and conditioner rather than the ones I brought. I love the way they smell! The little things are what make a difference: In the shower there is a small bar about 12 inches up from the floor across a corner. It was perfect to rest my foot on for shaving my legs!! Definitely better than the gymnastics contortions that I usually utilize! I loved that on port days, our cabin attendant left us pool/beach towels the night before, so that we did not have to make a trip to the pool to grab towels! I also loved the "loops" sewn into the edge of each towel for hanging!! And there are plenty of hooks in and around the bathroom for hanging stuff.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Stayed in a hotel the night before our cruise. Dined at Islamorada/Bass Pro Shop. A nice way to kill some time!

San Juan

We wandered on our own, shopping and looking at the holiday decorations. A very nice port visit.

St. Maarten

We just did an independent island tour. A great time and a wonderful way to see the island!!!
