I traveled with my two sisters in the two-bedroom family suite, so my experience is highly influenced by the special treatment we received as suite guests.

Embarkation was a breeze. We went to a special section of the terminal that had coffee, juice, and snacks to wait to get on. As we got on, members of the crew were lined up to greet us. When we got to our suite, we were stunned by how beautiful and large it was. After eating lunch at the buffet, we wandered around the ship until we got our luggage.

The ship itself is beautiful. I have been on Carnival and Holland America cruises, but this ship was much better. Everything looked bright and fresh, and the wood tones gave it a rich feel. It has many specialty restaurants as well. I never felt like I was one of many people being herded around in the public areas. I believe the ship's design contributes to that feeling--you don't see far ahead of you as you are walking. One thing I especially appreciated was that the casino was off by itself. I didn't have to walk through or past it to get to activities or shops. Flashing lights give me a migraine, so I was grateful to avoid those.

Cabin Review

Cabin 2-bedroom Family suite with balcony

My sisters and I were bowled over when we walked into this suite. It is large and beautiful!

The living/dining room area includes a couch, a chair, and a dining table with seating for four. Above the mini-bar was a Lavazza coffee machine with pods for coffee and tea. If you don't know what a Lavazza is, just think of a Keurig on steroids. It makes genuine espresso and has a steamer element in case you want a latte or cappuccino. A metal pitcher is included. Of course, it also makes regular coffee. Also in the area are wine glasses, extra coffee cups, regular glasses, and plates with napkin/silverware setups.

It has two bathrooms, one off the main bedroom and one in the smaller bedroom. The one in the smaller bedroom is large enough to use comfortably. The big one is huge! It has a separate shower, tub, and water closet with two sinks and a huge vanity. It also has enough storage to cruise for a long time, with ample drawers and closet space. The main bedroom can be closed off by a curtain, and the main bedroom/bathroom area has a door that can be shut between it and the living/dining area. The suite has 4 TV's, including one by the bathtub.

The smaller bedroom has a couch that can be made into a bed, plus a pull-out bunk overhead. I was alone in this room, so I had them leave the couch pulled out. It is not large but big enough for my purposes with plenty of storage and its own TV. It also has its own door. When the door was shut, I couldn't hear anything from the rest of the suite. I did think the bed was a bit hard. I asked for and received a foam topper, but it could still be better. That is my only complaint about the suite.

Overall, I was highly impressed by this suite. It was roomy, beautiful, and convenient.
