As always, when traveling, if you think you're getting gourmet food, Broadway shows and a suite for $100 per night per person you might be slightly disappointed because in reality a gourmet dinner and a decent show ticked costs way more than that!
The Good: Embarkation, we walked on board 30 minutes after arriving at the pier! Got a glass of Champagne and headed to deck ten aft. Waited at the bar for a few minutes before we were able to find a table under cover as it was raining. Had to wait a couple of hours for the staterooms to be ready. Found our (secret) stateroom to be great! Our stateroom attendants were PERFECT! Food in general at the buffet was OK. Food in the MDR in general was good but not great. Service after the first day (see below) was always outstanding! The, always available NY steak, was tough! A few days later prime rib was excellent! The filet in the Beef Wellington was also tender but the pastry and filling were sad. The entertainment in general was good. The headliners in the theater were very good! The singers and dancers were enjoyable! The lectures were informative and in some cases funny as well! Milos is hilarious!
The Bad: Celebrity continues to cut corners to improve the bottom line. We miss the Sunday Brunch! If other cruise lines have that we'll consider switching loyalty. How sad to have an ice carving demonstration but no ice sculptures. I was never a fan of Baked Alaska but did enjoy the parade. The obviously factory made version now served by Celebrity is just pathetic! The classic beverage package includes nothing but sweet Chardonnays. Chardonnay with residual sugar are simply not acceptable. The few Cabs on the list were barely drinkable. The cuts are getting tiresome Celebrity, it's only a matter of time before your loyal customers jump ship!
