I had avoided the cruise scene for many years but I took a cruise on the new Princess Regal and it changed my mind forever on cruising. Lovely experience on all fronts.

The check-in process was a breeze and we were able to take a short 5 minute taxi ride to the port (FLL). My only bag was my carry-on and it was more than adequate for a 7 day trip. Getting on the ship in early afternoon for a 4pm departure took approximately 35 minutes from curb to our room on the Aloha deck. With over 3000 people on board, it was never noisy nor did the ship feel overwhelming in any way.

When you hear that each day of the cruise is equal to gaining one pound, that is entirely possible! The types and varieties of food available well into the night is amazing. I loved the opportunity to experiment with different foods and the chefs and wait staff were always pleasant and easy to talk to. The late dinner option was our choice and our table guests were ready to share their latest adventure stories of the day. The late dinner time allowed us to take in the early entertainment in the beautiful theater which is not to be missed.
