Ive read some of the reviews of the Triumph for December. The reason we chose to go is we live in Houston and its an easy drive down there. From time we left home till sitting down for lunch was just a little over two hours. We parked across the street in one of the facilities that doesnt provide a shuttle. They took us in a golf cart from car to the sidewalk across the street from the terminal (they cant go any further). We just walked across the street up the ramp gave our luggage to a porter and checked in. They inspected our two 12 packs of diet cokes.

This is the third cruise I have taken from Galveston or Houston. I really dont have high expectations as its pretty cheap (no air). Also I wanted to be available the next week to go to a college bowl game (which werent known till 12/6). Anyway we ate in main dining rooms for almost all meals. We got really good service. I thought the food was actually better than a Holland America cruise I took this summer (cost a lot more). They push the wine of course. It was really crowded and full of kids as it left the day after schools in Texas got out. That didnt bother me that much.

Progreso is a typical mexican town. The person who said they had a problem getting a shuttle back to ship, well we didnt. We just sat on the beach for a few hours. The sellers were pretty annoying. My wife is from Rio and the same nonsense goes on in Copacabana. Cozumel I wish they had docked in town instead of the dock by El Cid. The gauntlet you have to go thru to get to an excursion was ridiculous. Once we got over to Passion Island it was really nice and peaceful. I have been in Cozumel probably 15 times. First time on Passion Island though. Once we arrived back in Galveston we were off the ship by 9 and were home by 10:30 or so.
