SUNDAY Dec 27 San Juan
The line for the taxis from the airport was very slow. They hand you a sheet with prices. There was a celebration in old town so traffic was mostly stopped. Our driver was terrific. He used side roads and we could view the stopped traffic, but we were moving on the local roads. It took about 45 minutes to get through the security and check in. First impressions are that the ship looks bigger than expected. Very clean outside and port was clean too. The muster drill was stuffy and hot. It always amazes us that people do not arrive on time.
Dinner was terrific in the Windjammer. I thought the beef loin, mashed potatoes, broccoli and cooked carrots were great until my son pointed out the grilled chicken, salmon and steaks area. All were good. There were also pasta dishes, salads, breads and rolls, sushi, 2 soups, a fish dish, small desserts, fresh fruits, 2 ice creams and toppings. There was no whipped cream and I commented on it. A couple minutes later a chef came out with freshly whipped cream just for me! WOW! Thank you!! We also like the way this café is set up compared to other Princess ships. It is not separated by the kitchen in the middle. It is one huge room and felt warmer.
