Just returned from the New Year's cruise and while the overall experience was fine, the dining room situation was terrible. We have cruised Celebrity many times starting with the Meridian and sailed on many lines with well over 100 cruises under our belt. Celebrity started off by distinguishing itself from the others by the food. Menus were several courses and service was elegant and efficient. The bean counters have, unfortunately, gotten hold of this ship and decided that they could reduce the choices, thereby reducing the ordering and preparation time and thus the crew and save more money.
The food is nothing like it used to be and I can think of no chef who would want to put his name to the menu. It is standard or less than standard low quality. It was lukewarm and took so long to deliver that on two nights we just gave up waiting for desert (over 2 hours for 3 courses) having missed the shows and just finished at the buffet. The last evening we requested to refill our water glasses three times and finally got the attention of the wine steward to do so. The table captain nor anyone up the line ever came by our table to ask how our food and service was. The 4 ladies at the next table had an even worse time and were also experienced cruisers.
The ship is fine otherwise but nothing to distinguish itself particularly from the other mass market ships and this is sad. The accounting department at Celebrity or RCCL needs to recognize that a dollar saved is not always a dollar earned. They will not be earing ours for awhile.
First time that we had tried an inside cabin for long time but it was best available and bought very close in for New Year's cruise. Afraid that I had spoiled my wife. Cabin was fine for size, cleanliness and amenities with one exception (crew had apparently used the toilet and forgot to flush as cabin was only half made up when I returned to grab sunglasses). But, window and balcony severely missed even on such a short 4 day trip.
I live there and highly recommend the water taxi tour.
We have been many times and it is a pleasant stop but no real beach to speak of.
Have been here many times as well. Despite my advice, my group wanted to visit Atlantis and have a beach day. By the time we waited 45 minutes for the water taxi to fill up every available seat and spent a bit of time wandering Bay Street there was only 4 hours left upon reaching Atlantis. There is no way we were going to spend $90.00 per person to visit the water park and beach for 3 hours. It is a beautiful place but pricewise a complete rip-off. Simply go to the public beach and save a lot of money.
