Booked a hotel 3 night pre cruise stay in Singapore, well worth it after a long flight from UK.

Embarkation very smooth and in our cabin by 1pm. Booked a Sky Suite ( 1st time in a suite) and well worth it mainly because of the use of Luminere restaurant and Michael's Club and 2 speciality dinners - one in Qusine and one in Olympic, both excellent. In Luminere and Michael's the service, food, drink and ambience were always excellent and we really felt spoilt. Staff attentive and had time to engage with us. However on port days only the buffet and Bistro 0n 5 were open for lunch. We were impressed with neither. Lunch in the buffet was poor as food barely warm and served on cold plates. Tables weren't cleared nor cleaned promptly and ordering drinks wasn't easy. Bistro on 5 is definitely not worth 10$ supplement. Slow service and poor food choice. We used the buffet for breakfast one day as we had an early excursion as did everyone else! it was awful. After that we booked room service.

Cabin 6125 was an OK size, quiet, with standard size balcony and good wardrobe space. Bed very comfortable. We met many people who had used this ship before and said standards had fallen. We can understand this as : we had to ask for toiletries to be replenished, cabin and bathroom dated, flowers in cabin left to die, fruit plate consisted of 3 apples which were not changed in 2 weeks, laundry not returned on time, constant up selling.

Port Reviews

Singapore

Hotel stay for 3 nights pre cruise worth it as so much to see and do. Ship docked about 10-15 walk from MTR station that takes you straight to Bayfront, the stop for Gardens of the Bay, this area is beautiful especially at night. Fab light and music show at the Harbour front- view from Exhibition Plaza. Sky Walk also worth doing. We also enjoyed the zoo and botanical gardens. We enjoyed being there pre Christmas as decorations and lights amazing.

Hong Kong

Did our own thing as had also booked 2 night post cruise stay. Free shuttle buses provided by shopping malls which drop you off near MRT station. We bought standard Octopus cards as staying on . well worth it.So much to see and do and just experience the place.Did the Peak using Octopus card as avoided ticket queue, just scsn card.. Must get there as early as possible. worth doing one of the walks.

Being there near Christmas was special as many beautiful lights and decorations.
