The key to a successful and stress-free cruise on the Anthem of the Seas is making reservations in advance (shows, activities and restaurants). Annually, my family of 18 takes a Christmas or New Year's cruise, so advanced planning is required.

Embarkation - easy access to Cape Liberty from the NJ Turnpike. Dropped off luggage with the porter, parked the car (paid $133 for 7 days) and checked in with a Royal Caribbean agent (wearing turquoise) on the ground floor of the garage allowing us to walk in the terminal and go directly through security and them walk right on the ship. Extremely quick and efficient system.

Rooms - we had a six balcony staterooms and three interior staterooms with virtual blacony. The rooms had plenty of storage space and a minimalist design style using earthy colors and geometric designs. The virtual balcony streamed a live feed from the exterior of the ship day and night - very clever! Room steward still makes animal designs with the towels but they do not leave chocolates on the pillow. Also the TV stations were limited and they do not offer free movies (other ships do).
