The Journeys cruise itinerary was good. Nice to go to some islands we had never been to. Overall an average cruise with Carnival. Food was good but not great. Guy's burgers were very good. The buffet was lacking on some days but good on others. The main dining room was the same. Some nights very good other just okay. Steakhouse was good but our companions meals were very fatty, not what we would expect.

As has been mentioned several time in the reviews, the bathrooms in the cabins were set up so you had a foot in the shower if you were on the toilet. Never had seen this before and it was not our first time with Carnival (gold level). The decor of the ship was nice but the anytime dining set up was not. Have to go through a very smoky casino to get to the dining room, seems crazy. How about a real non-smoking section? The smoke in the casino stopped us from spending a lot more money and time there( good for us, bad for Carnival). I don't see why they don't isolate the smokers in the casino with walls or doors or more smoke eaters. It was overwhelming. In fairness I know they have all but done away with smoking on these ships and I am sure that has something to do with it. It might be a good idea to have more indoor smoking places(isolated) so everyone doesn't go to the casino to smoke. I saw many people with scarves/ napkins over their face to try to avoid the smoke. This should not be necessary. Perhaps having the anytime dining sign in at the dining room entrance would make more sense. It seems with a large makeover like this just recently completed they would have a better system.

The comedy club and Shaun the host were great as was the cruise director Jamie. She was visible throughout the ship and was always smiling. The comedians were great with a wide variety. This is one of my favorite things Carnival has done. The staff in general was very good although we did have a few servers that were not that friendly. The housekeeping staff was great as usual. We are likely to cruise with Carnival again as the value is very good but I would be willing to pay a bit more for better food.
