I traveled with my family in Feb on the Carnival Liberty. We have been on larger and newer ships and wasnt sure what to expect. The price was great so we booked. The ship was nice, it had water slides that entertained my 10yr old. My teen daughter was happy lounging in her chair over looking the ocean with her books. I found the dining areas clean and staff on the ship wonderful. Our steward was fabulous! Always making sure our cabin was in great shape.
The only down fall that bothered me was that the staff didnt enforce the use of hand sanitization when people entered the help your self dining areas. as a germ a phobe as I am in healthcare, we chose to have our meals in the dining room which is by far more sanitary as well as quiet and relaxing avoiding the chaos up at the buffets. The reason why I had to include this was that I had been a past NCL traveler and new to this cruiseline and it was unusual for us not to see any staff waiting to greet you with hand sanitizers as this was NCL's practice. The NCL staff meet you at the door of the buffet areas to squirt you down before you can even take a plate! Cudos to NCL to help ward off the Noroviruses and what ever else might be lingering on those handrails! I'm thinking Carnival needs to go through that extra hoop to ensure that passengers dont get sick.
