This was my 5th consecutive cruise on Royal Caribbean and I've become somewhat of a loyalist since discovering that they offer most of what I like on cruises--the best entertainment. I've sailed on the Allure in the past and it was great to get back on the Oasis class on the original Oasis. This past summer, I cruised Quantum across the Atlantic and though it offered some interesting technological advancements, I do prefer these larger Oasis class ships. I hope they get upgraded soon with more of those same cruise advancements that Quantum offers.
Though it is the flagship of Oasis class, the ship is in excellent condition. Nothing looks old and everything was clean and operating well. We stayed in a balcony stateroom overlooking the ocean and were very happy with the cabin. However--to compare it with Quantum, the stateroom was smaller--room only for a chair compared to a sofa on quantum, and the bathroom was smaller as well. We had a very good experience with our state room attendant, as we have come to expect on Royal Caribbean. She learned out habits pretty quickly and always cheerfully accommodated the odd hours we came and went.
Of course, there are always a few hiccups when you first board and sometimes that requires a trip down to guess services. I wish Royal Caribbean would find a way to deal with this more efficiently. The lines are long and it takes a long time to get to the front. They do try to reduce this by sending officers through the lines to see if they can offer assistance, but it does not actually do much to help. My suggestion is to try to use technology to allow guests to submit questions or requests.
