Nice 7 day trip on the Glory, with stops at Half-Moon Cay, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, and Grand Turk. This was my 7th cruise on Carnival, and I was excited to see Half Moon Cay and St. Thomas as I have never been there before. Over the years, I have seen Carnival take further cost cutting measures, and I want to say that it is getting out of hand in many ways. I realize they have a business to run, but this is not the same company of 5 years ago and the quality is declining.

Anyway, the finance and I flew into Miami and stayed at a cheap Days Inn. Ate food at a nice Honduran resturant right next to the hotel. The only staff person there did not speak any english. However, the food was excellent.

Next morning, got the "early" free shuttle from the hotel and arrived at the port without any problems. And we got on the first regular boarding group which was nice. We were on board around 11:15 or so. We've been on the Glory before, myself several times, so we didn't really need to explore the ship. We did partake in the Fish and Chips station...this is the best time of the trip to do so as we were always busy otherwise during their limited hours.

Port Reviews

Grand Turk

Very nice beach. The water is so clear...possibly the clearest in whole Caribbean region. Very little to do in town though.

St. Thomas

Disappointed for it's reputation. But I did find some nice liqours.

Half Moon Cay

Very nice beach, excellent drinks at the pirate bar.

San Juan

Awesome place. I suggest eating at a local restuarant and getting Mofongo. Check out the forts, one is very easy to get to, they are cheap to get in, and they are huge.
