This is my fourth cruise. This was The Carnival Legend. It sailed from Sydney to North Queensland, Australia. We started from Sydney and we sailed to Cairns, Port Douglas, Willis island, Airly Beach and Brisbane). The problem was that it had short stops at four locations which did not allow the passengers enough time to organize off shore excusions. All of the ship excursions were sold. The itenary was poorly designed because we arrived at Port Douglas on Xmas day where nothing much was happening there. Shuttle bus transfers were not free and the were essential, because the ship stopped away from town.It costed us $60 every time we got off the ship. There were further delays in disembarkation which were essentially related to navigation issues. The food was pretty average and there was no provision for people with special dietery needs, such as Diabetics or Lactose intolerants. The staff did what they could to please passengers. The entertainment was low average. The Captain was extremely boring and every time he spoke he sent people to sleep. My two daughters foud the teenage club pretty boring and non egaging. There was no planned activities or leadership.I paid $12,000 for a family of 4, in addition to $2,500 spent on additional services, but I felt that it was not good value for money.
Pretty average furnishing. TV was at least 20 years old and it had horrible reception at all locations. the bathroom tap was leaking and there was a constant laod fan blowing air in the bathroom 24/7. There was no way to switch it off.
