This was our first cruise, so we weren't quite sure what to expect. We are a married couple in our late 30's. We chose Celebrity because we read they had great food and the accommodations would be nice. Overall, it was nice, but we got bored during sea days.

We arrived the night before and stayed at the Red Carpet Inn. It was the cheapest we could find. Shuttle to the hotel was fine. We had to wait 30 min. It was a longer wait (1 hour) in the morning to catch the shuttle to the port. It went really smoothly. Embarkation was great. No wait. We explored the ship and ate in the buffet until the rooms were ready.

Food--Of course, there was always plenty of food to eat. The buffet was good, with lots of different choices and usually no lines. The main dining room had the best food, but service was very slow and the side dishes were tiny. We figured out to arrive when it opened at 5:30 to get the quickest service. We did not try any specialty dining because it was too expensive. Room service food was mostly bad and slow. Despite not being as gourmet as I was expecting, I always found something good to each and never went hungry.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 2C

Cabin 2C

Very nice room in a contemporary design. Plenty of space for 2 adults. View was slightly obstructed by the lifeboats, which did not bother us. Very quiet.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Our shuttle dropped us off right at our ship. Quick and easy embarkation with no line.

San Juan

Our ship didn't arrive until 4:00 pm. We had just enough time to walk up the hill to the smaller fort, explore, then walk over to the larger fort and explore it. Tip: start at the bottom of the fort and make you way up because they close the bottom levels first, starting at 5:30, but the upper levels close at 6:00.

We wish we would have printed out a detailed walking tour before we left. But 6:00 pm it was getting dark, so we just hit the Walgreens for snacks & soda on the walk down to the port.

St. Maarten

Walked to Phillipsburg from the port and then walked to the end of the beach (past everyone trying to rent chairs). Swam in the beautiful water and collected shells. The water was not clear enough to snorkel here. Stopped at the small museum.
