From first booking until disembarking after the cruise, we enjoyed the Pride of America cruise of the Hawaiian Islands. Communication was good, getting on and off the ship was easy. The destinations were fantastic. Entertainment in the theater was excellent, especially "Oh What a Night" The quality of food and service in the main dining rooms was varied, healthy choices, and attentive wait staff. The EXCEPTION was the La Cucina Italian restaurant. The waitress could neither speak nor understand English. Menu choice were limited. The ones we did chose were prepared with spices and ingredients which resembled no other Italian restaurant we had been to, and we could not eat them, Left on the plate. Steak was totally full of gristle. We left, and promptly cancelled all other specialty restaurants that we had reserved for the remainder of the cruise, returning to the complimentary ones. The buffet items were well prepared, and good choices. However, getting a seat in the Aloha Cafe, even a handicapped one, was taking our lives into our own hands. The other ship's guests seemed to have no regard for the disabled. And the staff did nothing to aid us in getting food or a table. Our stateroom steward was great, quick response to all our requests. The one area where we feel that this and all cruises could come up with a better plan for a non-alcoholic beverage plan that is more economical for soft drinks, greater selection of sugar-free, and full glass of soda, that is not 2/3 ice for the prices they charge and not even a single refill! Also, if the only free beverages served were coffee, tea, ice tea and lemonade, they should be available in all restaurants and bars at all times of the day.

Nice room. They even separated the beds for us. Plenty of room for luggage and clothing, cosmetics. Safe was handy. Shower do-able, but could have use a little warmer water.

Great cabin steward.
