Just returned from our first cruise...5 nights from Charleston to the Bahamas over Christmas. Just a few observations, compliments, criticisms, and tips...

First, parking at the Charleston terminal was a major disappointment. Long lines and we arrived very early. People were getting out of their cars to stretch because we waited so long in line. We had the Faster to the Fun and it was absolutely worth it. Once we parked it was 20 mins and we were already eating lunch onboard. We had a family of 5 in one cabin and while it was a tight squeeze we made it work. Beds pull down from the wall and the bathrooms are tiny but you aren't in your room very often.

Service on the ship is excellent. Everyone is friendly and goes out of their way to be helpful. We really enjoyed Erwin in the Celebration dining room. We chose to do anytime dining. For us that just worked better. The food was just average. Nothing spectacular at all. The warm chocolate melting cake for dessert is fantastic however. Not worth the extra money for the filet or lobster in our opinion. Windows on the Sea buffet also very average. Honestly the food is our only real complaint on the ship and we aren't picky eaters at all. My kids loved the pizza and ice cream and we ordered room service several times as well. Drinks were hit or miss too. Sometimes too much alcohol, sometimes not enough. Entertainment and onboard activities were fantastic. The mini golf and ping pong tables were big hits. The comedy show is excellent. Pool is tiny but my kids liked the waterslide. My oldest, 15, spent alot of time at Club O2. He made a lot of new friends.
