Embarkation and debarkation was the smoothest and quickest that we have experienced (have sailed on 6 different cruise lines). It was the rest of the cruise that was disappointing. There were 7 of us (4 adults and 3 children) in two adjacent cabins. The cabins, although balconies, seemed small when compared to other cruise lines and ships, Although the cabins were adjacent, unlike other cruise lines like Disney, they could not open up the balcony partition even though they told us they would if we put in a request at the guest services desk (which we did). They failed to follow up and do so, in spite of additional request.
The ship seemed crowded (it was Christmas week) and many of the clientele were just rude people. They pushed and shoved and just cut in front of you when you were in a line. Also, the port embarkations were generally crowded and disorganized for the first hour or so. Little effort was put in by the staff to stagger passenger departures or to control the lines.
The food was generally plentiful but average at best. We realize they feed a lot of people in limited restaurants but so do other cruise liners that do a much better job with quality and space. Christmas dinner was a total disaster. Although they advertise "your choice dining it is far from that. W had to wait about 1 1/4 hours, with three small children, to get a dinner table. The two smallest were both in melt down phase (crying and hungry). Again, we have been on other cruise lines and have never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a table.
