The other reviews are correct in stating that the ship is due for dry dock. My understanding is that it will be refurbished this Spring. Yes, there was a threadbare patch on our stateroom carpet.
With that being said, however, we had a great time. We didn't encounter one bad staff member. Everyone was competent and respectful. The food in the Vista Restaurant was probably better or at least on par with every other cruise line we have sailed on (over 30 previous cruises between my husband and myself). Although other reviews mentioned being disappointed with the portion size, I had no complaints. The Lido was as expected for Lido deck buffet. The hamburgers near the pool were about the best hamburgers I've ever eaten, so they were a great alternative for lunch. The Lido buffet never had the "mad rush" pushing and shoving that we've experience elsewhere.
We did, however, experience extremely long waits for "anytime dining." We were routinely waiting about one hour. It was definitely the low point of the cruise. Once we realized that the wait for the Vista Restaurant was going to be so long, we arranged a nightly reservation for 7:45 (way later than we would have liked but the only time available) and at least there was no wait. I would suggest you either sign up for assigned times OR put in a nightly reservation on the anytime dining side as soon as you board the ship(there is a way to make reservations in the Caneletto area that is right in the Lido restaurant).
The staff weren't helping people back onto the boat. Someone fell and required medical attention.
Fun and very informative.
