My husband and I recently returned from the December 13th, 2015 Norwegian Star leaving from Tampa. We chose this cruise because of the destinations, we love to snorkel and go to the Mayan Ruins. Last year we were on the Norwegian Getaway. To us, it no longer matters if the ship is brand new or dated. We found the staff members on both ships to be polite and courteous, prompt, and professional. The Captain of the ship was fun to listen to, very informative also. The Captain informed us that we were going to have some rough weather after leaving Cozumel and throughout the night, but we knew that it was going to happen ahead of time, which I appreciated so much, since I get seasick easily and was able to prepare myself by taking Dramamine.

The day of disembarkation we arrived at 1:00 to board the ship, not a long line at all. We were greeted with smiling and friendly Cruise Terminal employees. Got on the ship in less than 30 minutes.

Our room steward, Enrique, was excellent. He introduced himself to us. We saw him on occasion, but never once did we have to ask for anything. Our room was always kept clean, and our beds were made twice a day - we took a nap every day...

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Inside

Cabin IA

Cozy, adequate for the minimal time spent in the room.

Port Reviews

Belize City

Snorkeling was fantastic, and then the beach afterwards was so relaxing and beautiful.

Tampa

We live in Tampa, no need to take an excursion, but we do recommend going to Ybor if you get into town early, very close to the port.
