Dec 5-12, 2015, embarkation nothing out of the ordinary, saw NO no snacks or drinks. On board only 1 elevator working and created a large backup, only 1 Hal rep to point us in that direction. Room, deck 8 was so so, showing signs of wear, plug in bath has been disabled, thank you for thr 4 hangers in the closet, for a 7day cruise with 2 formal nights. Off to lunch Lido very crowded, go to dining room and seated immediately. Chose the 8 pm seating with 3 other couples, none showed up ate by ourselves at a table for 8.
Turks very touristy, beach was nice and close, olde San Juan just shopping and all day and evening Hoping to get some dinner trade, off to st Thomas, best of the best, but docked in right field, cab ride to town. Only ate food from the boat nothing anywhere else, on Thursday went to the ocean bar for HH, and appetizers, mistake, big mistake, got a big case of food poisoning, finally called for medical attention and started on the mend, but quart inked to room so no private island, only follow up was being released and able to walk around and get off the ship. We also had a Cruise Critic meet and greet, ask HAL, not one person from the captains staff attended to greet us, what does that say!!
For the food and wine cooking show, quick and dirty, hardly any mention of Food and Wine sponsorship. Microsoft workshop was cancelled for 2 days, geared toward 1st or 2nd grade folks, most in my class wanted more but got nothing. HAL has a ship that in lacking direction from the top down, no greeting from staff when passing in the hallway, really felt out of the way being there. Back to NCL where you are treated as a GUEST and family.
