This was our 4th Princess cruise and the Golden was the best ship so far. She is one of the 9 Grand class ships - 40% larger than the Sun class ships we travelled on prior. (Sea & Dawn Princess) However, Golden serves only 25% more passengers and so we found this ship quite spacious and there were few occasions of overcrowding or waiting in queues.

Generally we had a lovely cruise to some most scenic and interesting destinations in New Zealand. This was our second cruise to New Zealand because our last cruise on the Dawn missed the Fjiordland scenic cruising due to weather.

Tauranga

This was really well organised by Princess with a lovely lunch. Absolutely spectacular

Akaroa

This was a 2 hour tour for $20 each. Great value and an excellent tour of the hills around Akaroa with magnificent scenery. You will find this operator offering these tours on the Akaroa jetty.
