Pros:

Every crew member did an excellent job. They always had a smile and warm welcome remembering our names and our preferences.

We had traditional dining (5:30) and loved it. The only thing I ordered off the "Available Anytime" menu was the shrimp cocktail a few nights. Chef Joel's choices for the new nightly menu were always fantastic. I had an apple, celery soup that was so good I still want another bowl! The fish, steaks, lamb were always cooked either perfectly or nearly so. The appetizers and desserts were superb. I had a chocolate mouse cake and toasted coconut cake with raspberry that I am still dreaming about. Our waiter, Melchor and his junior waiter, Ferdinand were a welcome delight each evening. The head waiter Nicola and the Maitre d'Hotel Rui made us feel like we were coming to a good friend's home for dinner each evening.

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MD

Minisuites are 323 sq feet with the balcony. Ours on Dolphin deck 9 was fully exposed on top (great for star gazing), and was large enough for two chairs (that reclined), foot stools and a medium sized table. Very comfortable for two. Our room had a ton of storage and more than enough hangers. The bathroom was large and had an adequate amount of shelf space. The living room area had a full size sofa and chair with coffee table. We thought the min suite was well laid out and quite spacious.

We liked being at the end of the hall in the back of the ship, not a lot of foot traffic. We really like the Vista Lounge and the bars and outdoor spaces at the back of the ship so these were super convenient. The Grand is just not that big though so getting to the Piazza or the forward part of the ship was easy and quick.

We had some rough seas two days and it got a bit rocky but it was manageable. If you get seasick do not get an aft cabin.

Port Reviews

Puerto Vallarta

We got off the boat and took a cab (van $5 each with $1 tip) to the Malacon. Walked to Old Puetro Vallarta and had a nice lunch. Had a hard time finding things that were actually made in Mexico.

Cabo San Lucas

Yuck....so comercial
