We had a fantastic time on our Norwegian Pearl. It was our 25th cruise but only the 2nd on Norwegian. We were celebrating Valentine's Day, our 26th wedding anniversary and my 45th birthday. We flew into Miami from Atlanta on Saturday morning. We spent the afternoon at Bayside Marketplace and went to Joe's Stone Crab for dinner. We stayed at the Biscayne Bay Marriott. We had a wonderful view of the ships that were docked and was able to see the Pearl as it was coming in on Sunday morning at 5:30 a.m. We took a taxi to the port at 10:30 and waited about 15 minutes outside before they opened the doors to start the embarkation process. It went smooth and we were sent upstairs to wait in a room for about another 30 minutes before we could board the ship. We were in the latitudes member line so we were in the 2nd group to board. We got our welcome aboard champagne and started our exploration of the ship. We ate at the Garden Cafe Buffet and went to the sun deck to enjoy some drinks and sun until the room was ready. We had a balcony cabin on deck 9. It was comparable to most other cruise balcony cabins that we have had. I liked the bathroom layout on this cruise better than the others. We made reservations for dinner at Le Bistro since we had bought the anniversary package and it was included. We had a wonderful meal there and were the only ones there besides one other couple. We went to the Welcome Aboard Variety Show and it was good. David Naster (comedian) was very funny. Monday was the first sea day and we stayed on the pool deck until lunch. We went to the Blue Lagoon for lunch and enjoyed it. The latitudes party was after that with unlimited champagne and fun with the captain. I went to the Martini tasting in the late afternoon . We had dinner reservations for sushi and Lotus Garden. My husband got sushi and I ordered from the Asian menu so that we could try both. We loved this place! Everything was delicious. We went to the Second City show after that and it was okay. Tuesday we were in Roatan. We went to the straw market but there was too much botheration from the natives. We took the water taxi to Fins and Flippers and had a wonderful beach day. They had a mini zoo with monkeys, cheetahs, etc. and the beach sand was raked by hand each day. It was a beautiful place with a nice pool also. We ate a Mambo's this night since they were offering 2 for 1 dinners this night only and enjoyed it very much. We did not see the show Sealegs this night as my husband does not care for these type shows. Wednesday in Belize, we took the trolley shore excursion. It was okay. We just did not care much for this port. We went back to the ship and did the two for one bowling. It was fun. We went to Teppanyaki for dinner tonight. We had looked forward to this restaurant but were disappointed in in because they used entirely too much garlic. It was in every dish, including the fried rice. We went to the comedian show this night with David Naster. He is hilarious. Thursday was Cozumel. This still remains my favorite cruise port. We went to Playa Uvas until mid afternoon for another beach day, then went shopping. We always have to go to Palmeras restaurant for margaritas and chips and salsa before getting back on the ship. They never disappoint. In my opinion, they have the best margaritas of anywhere, ever. This day was our anniversary, so we went to Cagney's for dinner. This was another disappointment. I actually enjoyed the food at the least expensive restaurants on this ship than the most expensive which were the ones I had looked most forward to. The steaks were not seasoned to what we are used to and the sides and appetizers were very forgettable. The show was Sharkbait and they were very entertaining. Friday was the last sea day and my birthday. We enjoyed the morning by the pool and ate lunch in Summer Palace. It was nice. We went to the margarita/guacamole tasting in the afternoon as well as the anniversary party with cake and unlimited champagne. We ate at Indigo for supper and then went to the Second City show. We stayed up for the chocoholic buffet. They had a chocolate fountain and chocolate strawberries, etc. Saturday was Great Stirrup Cay day. We were on the first tender but it took forever for it to board. We sat on it for 45 minutes until they departed. We were able to get good chairs in a good location. By the third or 4th tender, the island was extremely crowded and people could not find chairs and some went straight back to the ship. The barbecue lunch was very disappointing. Not much to choose from. This was valentines day so we went to LaCucina for dinner and loved it. We missed the show tonight due to packing and getting ready for debarkation the next morning. We paid the $250.00 deposit for our next NCL cruise and received a $100.00 on board credit since we knew we would want to go on another one. We really enjoyed the many restaurant and food options on this cruise. The last time we went on NCL, they only had LeBistro. We looked at the free dining room menus each night and never really saw anything that appealed to us. The one night they did, which was lobster/primerib night was the only night they offered 2 for 1 in the specialty restaurants, and we wanted to utilize it while we had the chance since we knew we wanted to try all of them. NCL has really learned how to make extra money but I am sure the other cruise lines are charging many extras now also. The photos were very expensive on this ship. With latitudes member cards, we got a 10 percent discount on the first one and 20 percent off the rest, so that helped some. I am sure I've left out some things I wanted to say about this trip, so if you have any questions or comments, feel free to ask.
