I really enjoyed this ship. Boarding was easy in San Juan, the room was ready when we arrived (usually you have to wait hours), luggage came before dinner. The staff friendly and welcoming. I love the variety of restaurants, from Guy's Burger Joint to Mexican to Spanish and everything in between. Each restaurant area having their own theme didn't feel like the traditional "buffet" of a cruise ship. The Rum Bar and Tequila bar at the pool was awesome! The only downside is no "drink of the day" on the ship. Each bar has it's own special so you have to find a waiter from that bar or go there yourself. No big deal really, because the ship is easy to navigate.

The new app is awesome as well. Still has some tweeking to do, but overall is on the right track. I loved the three deck of Serenity. If you still want to be a part of the action, the lower deck of Serenity is great! Want to just hear the sea, then the back of the upper deck Serenity is for you. Never really a lack of chairs either. Dive in movies were current and well attended each evening. Blankets soft and popcorn plentiful.

I did have one bad experience with a staff member and even after reporting the problem, felt like it was shrugged off. But the amount of excellent service by the remaining staff overshadows that. Overall, I would go on this ship again. Cabin 6112 felt a bit of rocking and was loud from waves crashing but our cabin steward was prompt and efficient.

Port Reviews

San Juan

I can't wait to visit San Juan again. There is so much to see and do, it's hard to decide!

Martinique

We were in port on a Sunday. Everything is closed on Sunday. Shops, restaurants, everything. We took a taxi "island tour" which was expensive and our driver did not speak English. He flew around the hairpin turns on the mountain and made us all car sick! He would attempt to point out plants or sights, but he drove so fast by the time we tried to translate what he was saying it was miles behind us. We stopped at a church that was in service and a distillery (DePaz), which was interesting. From there you can see the volcano. It was pretty.
