We are 2 couples upper 40's, mid 50's. This is our 4th cruise, 3rd on Princess. We booked a balcony guarantee and were delighted to be upgraded to mini-suites on the Dolphin deck. D109 and D115. We were in the forward part of the ship under the bridge. For the most part we LOVED the mini-suites, however in the future we will not accept an upgrade in the front of the ship. More on this later.

We arrived at the port around 11:15am. Embarkation was very smooth and fairly quick. We were on the ship in our stateroom by noon. We agreed that the pier at San Pedro is a bit nicer (and easier) than Ft. Lauderdale. We had brought a case of bottled water with us (to have for our shore excursions in Mexico). We put a luggage tag on it and it arrived safely in our stateroom with only 1 bottle missing (guess a dock worker was thirsty)!

We sailed out of LA, on time, and with smooth seas. The weather was perfect for our entire trip. The seas were smooth and almost perfect for 6 of the 7 days. We explored the ship, ate lunch in the buffet, bought a coffee card and just spent the afternoon unpacking and getting settled and enjoying our balconies. We were able to have the door between our balconies opened so that we could go back and forth.

Cabin Review

Cabin AC

D115 - Dolphin deck, Mini Suite. Fantastic cabin, loved the larger bathroom/bathtub. Hated the location when the seas got rough. Front of the ship is not the place to be in rough seas. A bit of a long walk to most everything. Otherwise the location was good. Especially quiet.
