We were slightly worried by reviews we had read which suggested that the Glory might not just be up to scratch. Well, as far as I can see, the negative reviewers really were searching hard to be offended.
Boarding took us about an hour. What else do you expect when 3000 people have to get on board in a relatively tight timescale? No big deal.
First impressions of the ship were excellent. Because other reviewers had gone on at length about the time elapsed since the last fit out, we were hesitant, but come on, the ship is in great condition. after the 3rd or 4th day you do begin to notice the odd cracked tile but really, thats the worst we could identify. Are some people just hard to please?
It was an interior cabin. Had everything necessary and loads of space. And we spent most of our time outside. It was after all the Caribbean!
Waled off the ship and all of the old town is within walking distance . Easily. Unless you're one of the many who don't seem to want to walk even to find a sun lounger. No tour necessary. Free trolley bus does exist, but 2 get off when 22 want to get on. We were lucky, most weren't.
Another great beach, what more can you say? Crowded when we arrived, but what do you expect?
First class beach. Just fantastic. Snorkelling tour was cancelled due to currents but no big deal.
Interesting island. We took a tour with Sonny Liston tours, shopping, mountain top and beach. Unless you want a watch or a bit of jewellery I wouldn't get over excited about the shopping .
We arrived two days before the cruise departed as we travelled from the UK. Hired a car and drove the Florida Keys to Key West. Worth seeing, but not quite 'one of the world's best scenic drives'. Glad to have seen it though. Also took a boat tour of the harbour organised through our hotel. Loved Miami, although it would never have been our choice to holiday there unless cruise departed from here. Well worth seeing.
