My family and I sailed on the Serenade of the Seas from Feb 7-14. This was only my 2nd cruise and 1st on Royal Caribbean. We arrived Sat at the dock at 11 and were able to board at 11:30. We had time to eat lunch then catch a taxi to Old San Juan to walk around. The ship was furnished with lots of neat pieces of art and with all the glass windows, the serenade really was the prettiest ship in port each day just like the cruise director liked to say. I didn't see that many Puerto Ricans on board and I saw no rudeness by them. I am not sure why people say that in a lot of these reviews.

Room: We had 2 ocean view staterooms. The bed slept good and the closet had plenty of shelves. The shower was so tiny, but you get that on a ship. If you want a tub, you got to spend more for a suite. The room steward always cleaned the room twice a day. Service was outstanding.

Entertainment: I went to all the shows except one. I'm not big on live shows, so I didn't think they were anything great, but it was something to do before going to sleep. My trip had the Los Diablos Gauchos, a couple of shows from the Serenade singers and dancers, celebrity singer Bobby Arvon, and Beatlemania. The Beatlemania show was the best of them. They dressed, talked, and sang just like the Beatles. I didn't go to see the comic. I went to the game shows too, which were the best. I liked the majority rules and quest. But the best show was the Love and Marriage show. The 3 couples we had were very funny. If you only go to one, don't miss the love and marriage one. And if you do miss it, they repeat the shows on TV. Read more
