The fog in Atlanta caused such a delay that we missed our connecting flight, the shuttle and thus the ship. FLIGHT INSURANCE IS A MUST. We had never used it before, but chose to buy it this time. Delta paid for us to fly on United to Cozumel. We had to find a room to wait for the Jade. The Vista del Mar was real close to the port/dock and priced well. We got the last of their 10 or so rooms. The Jade crew were pleasant and helpful. It was fun to speak to one in Italian and another in German. One word to a Chinese woman in Mandarin made her day, as did all attempts in any foreign language. We only ate at complimentary dining rooms. The food and service were superb. The smaller portions in the Grand Pacific helped us to try a number of starters and/or desserts without wasting food. Their presentation was gorgeous. This is the only place we found for grapefruit and grapefruit juice. The Garden Cafe on deck 12 worked well for us when we chose to go there. The variety is amazing. I think I may be addicted to their lemonade. My wife and I liked their salmon and herring as well as capers at breakfast. They have a lot of European touches. The sticky buns were always a treat. Desserts at lunch and dinner were also great. We liked the coffee. Since we both use CPAP, bringing a long grounded extension cord proved essential. Unfortunately, the water slide was more like a water walk. Also, placing the ping pong tables in the smoking section greatly reduced the enjoyment of playing. The library has many books (of which we used none), but did take their Sudoku and crossword puzzles daily.
We enjoyed our 2-room suite. A bed and a bathroom
We made a mistake in not taking money or credit card ashore.
Really big airport. Nice USO volunteers.
Might return.
