We sailed on December 12 on the Eastern Caribbean itinerary, stopping in at San Juan, Charlotte Amalie, and Phillipsburg.
Embarkation was a nightmare. Some clown debarking the ship earlier in the day made a joke about a bomb. Homeland Security and Miami-Dade Police were called in, the ship was locked down, and embarkation was halted. I can't fault Celebrity for the incident; in fact, I am appreciative of the steps that were taken to ensure passenger safety. However, I was very disappointed in the way that the land based team handled the embarkation issues: elderly passengers were forced to stand in mid 80 degree weather for 3 hours. I was quite surprised that there were no apparent major issues encountered.
The ship is beautiful and well maintained. I saw no visible wear and tear anywhere on the ship other than the usual deck chair scrapes and scratches.
Decent sized cabin.
Excellent deck chairs with ottomans.
Very clean cabin; furniture and fixtures were in excellent shape.
Very good service from the room steward.
Miami is very good at what it does - get people from the airport to the cruise ships quickly.
It was dark when we arrived due to the late departure out of Miami. Most passengers didn't do anything but get off the ship, take a quick look around, and then return to the ship.
Typical Caribbean shopping stop. Enjoyed walking around but that was about it.
Again, great for shopping and beaches. Not much else to do.
