My hubby and booked this 12 night Southern Caribbean cruise spur of the moment three weeks prior to sailing. It was the longest cruise we ever booked so I was a bit concerned that I would get bored. Was I wrong! It was a great cruise! There is so much to do and so many activities and shows to see on the Breakaway that we couldn't do them all! We enjoyed the shows very much, especially Burn the Floor and Howl at the Moon dueling pianos! Cirque show and dinner was amazing too, as was Rock of Ages. The many varied restaurants on board were high quality and excellent. This huge ship is well managed and we experienced excellent service. We will cruise NCL again...cruise like a Norwegian!

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Inside Stateroom

Cabin IE

The cabin was roomier than we expected, especially the bathroom! Two could actually move about easily together. The bed was so comfortable! There was ample room in the closet for our many clothes and shoes! The six suitcases we brought stowed well under the bed.

Port Reviews

New York (Manhattan)

I love NYC! The embarkation center was clean and well managed but in a very congested and busy area.

San Juan

Puerto Rico is beautiful, clean and safe. Since we had been there six months prior on the Gem and had taken an excursion then, we didn't do so this time. Instead, we just walked around San Juan exploring and shopping. There was plenty to do on foot.

St. Thomas

We just took a local taxi to the beach. Very beautiful and relaxing!

Tortola

We took a local shuttle tour and the beach. Very reasonably priced and interesting.

St. Lucia

St. Lucia is beautiful. We took a local shuttle tour which was well done. However this was the only island in which the abject poverty was so apparent that it made us sad.

Barbados

Barbados is a flat country but lovely nonetheless. We took a taxi to a beach which had a bar and grill with free wifi for far less money than the ship excursion to the beach!

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

This was our favorite port! The island is so beautiful! We took a local shuttle tour of the entire island and 2 hour beach break at a resort for only $20 per person, payable when the driver retuned us to the Breakaway! Fabulous deal!
