We were on the December 6 cruise out of Tampa. Our experience echoed some of the good and bad comments below, but we heeded the words of the hotel director at the CC Meet and Greet and didn't just complain to each other, but approached Star staff to get our issues resolved.
One issue that I've seen mentioned and was our experience also relates to bad waiter service in Aqua on the first night (our wine steward was good). I did feel like we were ignored by the waiter and had to fight to get her attention. So we went to Ginza the next night (not great Asian food). Frustrated, we asked the restaurant manager if we could get the same waiter, same table, same time every night - clearly, we're not big "Freestyle" fans. This was readily agreed to, and we really lucked up with Maja as our waiter. She was amazing and really made our cruise so much better. She was one of the best waiters we've ever had on any ship.
And our room steward, Jenifer, was great also - we saw her several times a day and she was always very friendly. She dealt quickly with our few requests (foam mattress and extension cord).
As I said, small but servicable. Terrible mattress, but otherwise OK. Very convenient to elevator, buffet, and 13th deck hot tub.
I didn't go ashore - hate tendering! DH did and said it wasn't great. He did like the museum though.
We rented a golf cart that 1) lost its key (it flew out of the ignition at some point while we were driving), and 2) broke down. But they responded and fixed it quickly. Even with the issues, it was a lot of fun.
Average port - needs to deal with congestion issues.
Just stayed in the port area, which we found to be interesting.
Been there a lot - just shopped.
