After all the publicity for the Pacific Eden I was looking forward to a cruise which was really something special, surely P & O would have pulled out all the stops to make it so? A bit chaotic to get to and on to the ship but my cabin was a good size, cool and pleasant. The entertainment wasn't bad. There the pluses end. The main gripe for everyone was the awful food. Like a food hall in the pantry with inferior food and little change from day to day. The Waterfront restaurant could not cope, again the food was mediocre, sometimes not available, tepid, no vegetables and not enough variety from day to day. I had my smallest main course ever in Dragon Lady and could not be supplied with rice when asked for.

Fortunately I like Trivia as there was plenty of that but not much else. No demonstrations, talks etc. Many of the advertised activities just did not happen, especially for the younger people.

My cabin staff were excellent and some of the bar staff too. The entertainment staff tried hard but most of the rest were not up to scratch.
