This was our first cruise for me, my wife, and our two teens (14 and 12). Overall we had a great time with two notable exceptions (neither of which I hold RCI responsible for) that I will get to later, but first the good.

Our balcony stateroom was small as expected, but clean and well laid out. Our room was "on the hump" so I think our balcony may have been slightly larger than some others, either way, it was fantastic. We enjoyed sitting and enjoying a drink on the balcony almost daily. The kids had a Promenade view stateroom across the hall, which was even smaller than ours, but the bowed window with the window seat was a huge hit. If I had it to do over for them though, I would have booked a room slightly farther forward so they would have had a better view of the promenade, but they still loved the room so it's all good.

Our room steward was absolutely wonderful as were the rest of the staff we encountered on board. The only slight let down was one night when we arrived for dinner 15 minutes before our "my time dining" reservation and were not seated with our regular waiter. We still received good service, just not nearly as personal as we had become accustomed to with our other waiter.

Port Reviews

Galveston

We arrived in Galveston at about 11:00am. We enjoyed a walk on the beach and a fabulous (albeit pricey) lunch at Gaidos Seafood Restaurant before going to the boat. We checked in at about 2:00pm with no waiting. The only hiccup was an issue with getting our two staterooms linked to the same onboard account, but this was quickly resolved.

Cozumel

Fury Catamarans was amazing! We had a great time snorkeling and playing on the beach. They have some really cool boats too!
