Sail Date: Dec 2015
Cabin: Concierge 1-Bedroom Suite with Verandah

I sailed on the Magic about 2 years ago in a suite, and it was nice, but the Dream was one of the best ships I have sailed. This trip was 2 people, part of an annual mother/daughter trip which sometimes includes a cruise.

No kids, Mother 60, daughter 39. We booked concierge as I wanted a separate bedroom (see cabin description below) and that was a great decision. I rented a car at Budget MCO and dropped it off at the Budget Port Canaveral shuttle, and the total cost for this was about 75.00 for the one way rental. Depending on how many people you have, that could be less expensive than Disney travel options.

Embarkation: we arrived and were able to go to the Platinum/Concierge check in; If you are DVC, then stop by the DVC desk on the left side as you enter the terminal, for free special lanyards, and a few other prizes. A cast member escorted us on to the ship & up the elevator to the concierge lounge at about noon; Our room was ready though keep in mind if you are sailing in a regular stateroom, your room will not be ready until 1:30 and passageways to cabins are blocked until then, which caused a huge number of guests to be sitting in stairwells awaiting their rooms.

Cabin Review

Concierge 1-Bedroom Suite with Verandah

Cabin 00T

The cabin was phenomenal; The colors were rich and very deep; Carpets, draperies, even the "wood" panels were a wonderful blend of classic and elegant art deco, but with very strategic and fun Disney touches which one would expect. One highlight was the marble & wood bathroom...because you can soak in the tub while watching your favorite Disney movies on the TV in the mirror. The balcony was large and my only complaint was the very shabby balcony furniture. Note to Disney: steamer chairs would go a long way to rectifying this; you have thought of everything else in the cabin design, put a little thought into the balcony. The vanity area in the bedroom was a nice touch, and the living & dining area were also large and well appointed. There is a small "study" area with a small-ish desk and desk lamp, and a pull out Murphy bed (which we did not need) is located there. The Master BR is separated from the Living area by sliding doors which you pull close. Overall - Best cabin I have had at sea. It beat the QG category cabins on Cunard (their suites) due to the Dream's beautiful fabrics and art deco touches. One caveat - many of the concierge suites are quite far forward. Bear this in mind if you are prone to seasickness.
