We previously sailed on the Celebration, same itinary. Bad choice!!
We nearly gave up on Thomson cruises because of that experience but decided to give Thomson anothe go, and we are glad we did.
The Majesty is a much nicer ship than the celebration, cleaner, more modern, better maintained, more stable, less vibration, better eateries, better bars, better theatre/ lounge better cabins, the list goes on.
Cabin Review
On the Majesty, we only booked a standard outside cabin and although small, was fine for us. Midships so not much in the way of movement, no engine noise, no noisy neighbours (don't know what our neighbours thought though!!) A bit lacking is storage space but being a gent, I left all my shorts, T-shirts and socks in my case giving the wife most of the drawer space. Annoying hairdrier still attached to its wall mount in one of the drawers and the charged for safe is a still major bug bear with me though.
Maids were very nice and good at doing the bed and the folded towel animals, not so good at taking dirty pots away and restocking the sugar etc for tea making.
We paid extra when booking to select the cabin so we did have a good view between the life boats but whilst being nosey walking round I did spy into other deck 8 cabins and noticed lots had a fully obscured view! not much point in an outside cabin when a life boat is 2 feet from your window!
We paid extra for a premier on the Celebration 2 years ago and its was pretty awful tbh.worn fixtures and fittings, light fittings that didn't, well, fit! Poor shower, dirty wash area (not uncleaned, it was just stained and old), new carpet that was frayed. Not sure what these were like on the Majesty but we were happy enough.
