Background:

I am a veteran cruiser with over 30 cruises to my credit, many of them on Royal, Celebrity, Carnival, NCL, and HAL. I chose this sailing and the ship for a couple of reasons. One of them was that I wanted to be aboard the world's largest ship (yes, I know that Allure is bigger by a few thousand GTs) of the Oasis class; another reason was that I wanted to sail in a month when I would not return home with a bad cold. I also liked the itinerary even though I planned to do a couple of shore excursions.

I sailed on Oasis of the Seas during 9/26-10/3/15. If I could describe this ship in one word, it'll be WOW! My cabin was on Deck 14 Aft; I chose the location and cabin type--Boardwalk View Balcony cabin on the port side of the ship for a couple of reasons. One of them was that I wanted to see the hustle and bustle of life on the ship especially in the Boardwalk View. The other reason was that I get a nice view of the Aquatic Theater show one evening.

Boardwalk View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin B2

My cabin was on Deck 14 Aft; I chose the location and cabin type--Boardwalk View Balcony cabin on the port side of the ship for a couple of reasons. One of them was that I wanted to see the hustle and bustle of life on the ship especially in the Boardwalk View. The other reason was that I get a nice view of the Aquatic Theater show one evening. I had lots of storage, but I wish I had more hangers w/o the dress/pants part. There were many electrical outlets available on the vanity, and the minibar kept things cold. I had lots of space to maneuver around. The balcony was nice and big, with a high railing to keep little kids from climbing up and to keep other folks from climbing from one balcony to another.

I enjoyed my balcony and used it many evenings to watch DVDs on my portable DVD player (with earphones, of course, because I played my discs late at night). I could easily see the Aquatic show, the basketball players shooting hoops at 1 AM, the folks riding the waves, but I never saw anybody use the zip line ride.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

I stayed overnight at the Hyatt Regency Pier 66. You can see my review in another part of TripAdvisor as well as this review. Because I was here only one night, I didn't get the chance to have a gander at Las Olas boulevard, the mall, the canals w/nice homes, etc. Maybe the next time I leave from this port, i''ll stay a little longer at a hotel that offers the Water Taxi. Hyatt Pier 66 doesn't offer it.
