We've thought about cruises in the past, but it took a little nudge from our son to get us to do it. The weather the first day/night was a little rough but certainly didn't stop us from having a good time. Every single person that I encountered wanted to make sure that all guests were happy. We were especially impressed with Ihmade from Indonesia who constantly made sure we had drinks, answered any questions we had & he had a smile for everyone. What a nice guy! Deserves an employee of the month award.
Also, can't say enough about cruise director Tyler! Sense of humor, energy galore...wonderful! The cruise went smoothly from the moment we arrived. Loved the free style dining...no schedule...no problem. Will definitely go on another cruise with Norwegian. Went to the Stardust (?) for the comedian, Richie & he was very entertaining. Also, had a special dinner at Cagney's & it was excellent. Dinner another time at Palace, also very good. Not so impressed with the Italian restaurant...the best part was the minestrone soup & its presentation. Had a balcony room & would highly recommend...nice to have a private place to go & sit & enjoy.
very clean...have never seen a shower so small...but it worked out fine. the staff kept room well stocked w/clean towels etc & it was a surprise to find towels designed into cute animals waiting on our bed.
We did not arrange a tour on the ship but took a tour thru an independent guy who took us all around the island. We saw the Queen's staircase, a fort, homes of Oprah, etc. Both the rich & poor sides of island life. We also saw many hospitals, government buildings & he explained how they were all color coded.
