This was our seventh cruise and our second on Celebrity. A little about us; My wife and I are 49 and 55 respectively and are regular working class folks. We sailed out of Ft. Lauderdale and the embarkation was fairly easy. We chose to park at the "park and go" up the street and it worked out perfect. The rate was good and they bring you and your luggage right to the front door. Once on board our room was ready straight away. When we booked this cruise we were upgraded to the Aqua class and thought that it would be something special but other than the use of the Persian gardens I did not think it would be worth the money if I had to pay for it. In the afternoon they delivered hors d'oeuvres to your room. When we arrived at the room I looked at the tray and laughed, you could fit the entire amount of the hors d'oeuvres on one cracker. LOL. They also have fresh fruit and tea delivered daily but once again it is not worth the money in my opinion. In a nut shell Aqua Class is not worth it to me.

Now the positive's, anything we asked for or needed the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. We left my bowtie at home and called the front desk and within 5 minutes they had one delivered to my room, no charge. We also went to future cruises to book our next cruise and the price on board seemed on the high side and we told the agent that we think our travel agent could do better. She then gave us her card and sent us to guest relations so we could use the phone from the middle of the Caribbean to talk to our travel agent to book the cruise, once again no charge! That's great customer service.

On the last night at dinner my wife told me about some earrings that she liked and wished she had bought so after dinner we walked down to the shop that had them but they were closed for the cruise. Then my wife saw the clerk that showed her the earrings and she opened the shop and got her the earrings. that is a big WOW to me.

Cabin Review

AquaClass 2

Cabin A2

In my opinion Aqua class is over rated. The shower is nice but when you turn on the lower shower heads you lose pressure on the top. the bed is next to the balcony which is perfect for me. There is ample storage throughout the room and bathroom. We did not use any of the toiletries they supplied as we bring our own. On a daily basis they bring you fruit, tea & hors d'oeuvres. The hors d'oeuvres are a joke. Don't waist your time as there isn't enough for one bite let alone two people. One thing I really liked was the foot stools on the veranda. This should be on ALL balconies not just Aqua class. All in all the room was nice but I would not pay to upgrade to Aqua Class but some might enjoy the extras.

Port Reviews

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

we did some shopping near the port and hung out at Margaritaville while it rained most of the day.

Cartagena (Colombia)

The ride up to the monastery was kind of depressing to see the poverty that a good amount of the population lives. The sanctuary was beautiful and the history was interesting. we then went on a walking tour downtown and did some shopping.

Costa Maya

The port is your typical fenced in and secure private beach with lots of touristy shops and a nice pool with a swim up bar. My favorite part here was getting a nice massage on the beach under the palm trees.
