Our 1st Disney Cruise was on the Dream which left Monday, 11/23 and returned Friday, 11/27. This was over Thanksgiving and the cruise was a Very Merry Christmas Cruise.

Being first time cruisers, we really didn't know what to expect. I traveled with my husband and our 2 boys, ages 10 and 6. Our 10 year old has Asperger's Syndrome & our 6 yr old is developmentally delayed...so I was nervous.

Embarkation: Our time to arrive was 10:45a.m. (2 hr or so window), we got there at 9;30a.m. Because the actual building was not ready for us, there was a line in the parking garage before the Porters came to get the luggage. We waited until 10:15 and then they started the check in. Before you get into the building a man will check your passports & ask for your stateroom #. Once you get into the building, it's a very nice area. You get into line & go up to what looks like an airport counter. They ask for your passports again, they take each person in your parties picture and they give you a ticket that tells you which boarding group you are in. Now, they begin boarding at 11:30a.m. but we were told that we could get a boarding group as late as 2pm. Due to my son have Autism, I had asked if it were possible to get the earliest boarding time we could. She was very happy to do so and we were on the boat by 11:40.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah

Cabin 04C

We were in Room 7616 Midship. The rooms actually surprised me at how much space there was. I was expecting to be living out of suitcases for the week. The suitcases actually fit under the beds, so that's a huge plus. There are 2 side by side closets. One has a safe in it, and one has the life jackets in the top. There are shelves in one of the closets w/hangars, and the other closet is basically just hangars. You may want to pack a few of your own hangars if you plan to hang most stuff up. I did, but I bet you could ask housekeeping to get extra for you.

The bathroom in this stateroom had a toilet & sink in one room, then the other "bathroom" had a shower & sink. The shower is round & very nice and actually spacious.

This room also had the pull down bunk ( I was nervous neither of my kids would like this, but they ended up swapping each night because they thought it was comfy & neat). The one thing is the housekeeper takes it down each night & puts it back in the ceiling each morning. We wished it was down during the day for rest time, but it wasn't a big deal. I'm sure if you asked, they could do it.

Plenty of drawers & cabinet space. Nice verandah w/the view of Castaway Cay.

There is a little chest that opens up to put other stuff in that sits in front of the couch...we put that on the side of the couch to allow for more space in the center.
