When I first sighted the Eden as we approached White Bay, I couldn't believe we were sailing out on her that afternoon, she looked anything but new and refurbished. After all the advertising and hype about the 5 ship spectacular it was all for publicity and the cameras.
Embarkation was an absolute nightmare, Staffing was minimal, assistance at reception were unprepared for the barrage of enquiries and complaints, many of the times for for events on program had been altered and were missed due to not informing the passengers, kids were running around the bars and nightclubs till all hours - playing on the stairs and elevators when they were working that is, the emergency elevator didn't function until the 3rd last night. The air conditioners were not functioning well either in the reception area it was always so crowded which made it very uncomfortable and stifling. Toilets blocked and overflowed.
The shore trips on the tenders took so long to arrange and get tickets most people didn't go ashore due to the time factor, there were even 2 tenders being repaired due to malfunctions. We even missed our private shuttle pick up due inexperience of untrained staff.
None of it had been updated, bath was scratched and tap-ware corroded and mouldy,
Must say the cabin staff were very helpful and kept the cabin clean and presentable.
